Evette Nashboo, Zuni Hand Coiled Lizard Wedding Vase

Regular: $195.00

Evette Nashboo has hand coiled this beautiful Lizard Wedding Vase.   Coiling around the Wedding Vase is a symbol of a Lizard.  The lizard represents patience, wisdom, and agility.

The Wedding vase is a treasured and sacred element in many of the Native American tribes, especially the Navajo and Pueblo peoples.  The vase is not only symbolic in the ceremony performed prior to the wedding but is also the shape and construction of the vessel itself.

The two opening "spouts" represent the couple, one the bride and other the groom.  The rounded base and shared reservoir of the vase represents the couple's now shared lives.  The looped handle also represents the unity in a more visual and apparent way, much like a wedding band is reminder of the deeper, spiritual connection the marriage contains.  The handle creates a circle in the center of the vase that represents the circle of life.
