On June 11, 2007 at age 61 Harry Morgan passed away.
Harry Morgan was born on June 9, 1946 to Louise Morgan. Harry Morgan started casting at age seven and by age 12 he was silversmithing. When Harry Morgan graduated from high school he was offered a 4 year scholarship from the Navajo Tribe to study engineering. Even though this was a great opportunity Morgan no longer had an interest for it, instead it was a rodeo cowboy. As the popularity of the sport continued Morgan met his levels of satisfaction but wanted to experiment with Jewelry again. Morgan opened his Silver Supply Store in Crownpoint, NM and began his journey as a full time silversmith.
Harry Morgan was known for his antique style work, top of the line stones, and everything was always handcrafted. Harry Morgan had a workshop that was producing beautiful traditional style pieces of art. While silversmithing Morgan used many stamps that were from his families private collection. He was the Nephew to the well known Navajo artist Charlie Bitsue and Ike Wilson. Morgan always would always put a satin finish on his art to bring out all of the detail hand work and top of the line stones.
Morgan won many awards for his craftsmanship and his work can be found in the top galleries across the country!
Morgan has five children, his sons are Kelly Morgan, Greg Pat, and Jason Morgan. Harry Morgan was a very talented artist that will forever be remembered as an outstanding Silversmith!
